What do you have to worry about when migrating to a new server with Product Cart? Does it need installed again on the new server or can you just copy the files over? Is there a "bullet" list of things to do when you want to upgrade your server for PC? I want to make sure we don't miss anything when we move our clients servers.

Thanks!

It helps, obviously, if the host knows the application.  That's for starters.

Beyond that:
- move all of the files like any other site move
- set the appropriate folder permissions per EI's WIKI
- pull the SSL certificate from the old server and install in the new server

Once all of that is done:
- close the store
- pull a current database backup
- install the database into the new host and connect it to the store by editing the storeconstants.asp file
- transfer DNS

Ok great, that's most of what I thought, thanks Greg. Just making sure nothing out of the norm here or any caveat anyone has run into that would be helpful to know.

Thanks again,

You could also point to the new database from the old server while the dns updates... that way you won't have any downtime.

Hi whizzinpc. Surely there MUST be some downtime whilst the database is migrated? Apart fom that though - yes, it's a good idea/point.
