I have been asked by the owner of this store to configure it for him. I don't know enough to even ask what I should do to start. Please could someone take a look and hopefully be able to tell me what I need to do to get this store looking like an eCommerce site. Thank you. |

Hi there, Best bet is to start out with a solid idea for a site template and go from there. Think about colors that are fun and appealing to look at. A site that sells toys can be a real fun build, too! Thing about Product Cart is this: The default template is very VERY basic, but that's actually a good thing, because you can build a look and feel that's all your own. If you decide that you'd rather have someone else design it, let me know and I'd be happy to give you a good quote. I currently do all the layout, search engine optimization and marketing for http://www.hipepc.com/ Take a look at some of our pages (we're currently undergoing our seventh redesign - it's roughly 80% complete, don't mind the occasional mis-sized thumbnail picture) - http://www.hipepc.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory =17 and http://www.hipepc.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory =102) to get a feel of some of the neat things that can be done with Product Cart! As for Search engine optimization, the keyword and meta tag generators in Product Cart are decent; But they're excellent when used in conjunction with the static page redirect that just came out! We've managed to get HiPe PC on the first page of Google, Yahoo and MSN Live for roughly 20-30 popular search terms related to buying a gaming pc without too much hassle. There's some seriously great tips on this forum for search engine optimization and there's a great deal of other resources on the web as well for boosting rankings. If you want to stick to doing it yourself, keep my email handy and I'd be happy to lend the occasional hand if you get stuck. Once you get the hang of it, Product Cart is seriously a pleasure to work with - Far superior to the other ecommerce packages I've designed with! And the Early Impact supprt staff is the best you'll ever come across :) -Richard richard@hipepc.com |

Please see the chapter of the User Guide that refers to integrating your graphical interface with your store. The graphical interface can be any design you come up with, a template that you buy, or something that another designer has created for you. If you need more help, think about contacting a ProductCart reseller: http://www.earlyimpact.com/partners.asp |
