Hi Greg
I totally appreciate that and thanks for the good luck :-) Talking with you has clarified what I am actually after so if anyone else reads this post.... What I am asking is whether anyone has adjusted the dynamic menu code supplied on the Wiki so that it works in ver3.5 and above and that they are willing to share.. Thanks Sam |

Hi, The static menus that can be generated allow a lot of flexibility in styling - especially in V4 with the spry menus.

Sam, one difference is that v4 introduced a UL (unordered list) option to the navigation generator. By using that option, and CSS + JS (or SPRY, as Hamish mentions), there are a number of things that can be done.
Stock 3.51 functionality does not support this because the nav generator outputs a HTML table structure only.
So if one looks at the "springy" menu structure that you have shown us, that can only be accomplished with custom code. There may be other options as to what CAN be done, but I don't see a way to duplicate what you did without digging into the code. Edited by Greg Dinger - 13-January-2010 at 2:45pm |
