Is PC working on adding the canonical parameter to the cart?
With the SEO mod, this would be very useful since any text before the category/product will resolve to the same page. I would think this could help us rank better in the SERPS. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/02/specify-your-canonical.html |

Hi blackey,
Thank you for the reminder. This is indeed something that's been on our "To Do" list for a while. So we just went ahead and looked at it today. Here is a BETA version of this feature. http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/seo-canonical |

Thanks guys, can't get better service than that.
Tested it on 3.51 and it looks like the scPcFolder is not being inserted into the URL. Hard coding it works fine of course. Everything else looks good. Will try 4.0 tomorrow. Edited by blackey - 29-January-2010 at 12:20am |

Hi Blackey,
Thank for your feedback. The issue of "scPcFolder" being empty is due to the fact that the include file that keeps the store folder name ("includes/productcartfolder") was not included in many storefront files in v3.x. It is included in v4 in those same files. As you said, in v3 you can edit the code and make it work by hardcoding the path to the "pc" folder. Please keep posting here in case you find any other issue. Edited by earlyimp - 29-January-2010 at 12:50am |
