Recently Gear Host (web server company) migrated us to a new server as a normal update. This happened last night. Well today we have had zero orders and was strange. We were contacted by a few of our customers. Here is what is happening:
You go to a product and select "Add to cart" Then the cart software takes you to a shopping cart page, but it states "Your cart is empty" Also, you cant login as a customer to your account. However, ALL functions under the control pannel work. We can update orders, processing, tracking numbers ect. Everything on the control panel works great. It is all on the PC side. You cant get items to get into the shopping cart. We are running ProductCart V3.1 with SQL server.
Thanks, Aaron Edited by TurboTechRacing - 25-September-2007 at 12:25pm |

For some reason the session is getting lost when going to the cart so it doesn't see any products even though you try to add one. Usually this type of problem occurs when the domain name changes, even from something like yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com. After testing your site, that does not appear to be the issue. Is it possible that the host service is using a server farm where the domain/site actually resides on multiple servers? That is not supported by product cart. Here is a PC KB article on losgin sessions. Hopefully it will help: |

Just a clarification since we certainly do not want people to think that we don't support our customers. When Aaron contacted us through our Support System, we responded very promptly, even if the issue does not appear to be related to ProductCart, but rather to the Web hosting environment, which Early Impact has no control on. |

Yes Cedric has been wonderfull, the first reply back, really had nothing to do with the issue we had. Cedric did phone call us and help. Our web server company is Gear Host, and they found the reason why it is not holding the sessions. The glabal.asa page on the cart software is doing something wrong. We just passed this info on the Early Impact. Not sure how the file got their, but EI states it should not be in the system files?!?! Oh well all is better now
Early Impact has ALWAYS been great, as we have been a customer since 2003. We always have had propt responsed and always willing to help out. We just were in between 2 companies saying it is the other and didnt know where to turn. We were looking to get additional support by other members using this cart software and possibly having gear host as their server comapny.
Again thanks Early Impact Edited by TurboTechRacing - 25-September-2007 at 4:28pm |
