Greeting, We run into the incorrect weight problem for all of our BTO products while customers choose multiply quantities of item. For example 2 SATA2 Hard Drivie or 2 piece of DDR2 Memory... There is no problem, while you buy those items as the components. If you choose 1 quantity then the BTO weight info just correct. It is the time while you choose mutiply quantities then the weight info just totally messed up. Hoping somebody at this forum can shed some light for me. Regards, David |

Hi,
This looks like an issue which should be reported via a support ticket. https://www.earlyimpact.com/productcart/support/support_form .asp Edited by Hamish - 11-April-2007 at 9:54am |

Are the items under 1 pound? Underneath the item weight, there's a category that says "Units to make 1 lb:" Make sure there isn't an incorrect value there. Let's say you have 1 stick of RAM. PC will calculate the shipping costs for 1 stick of RAM. Add on a second and while you're most likely going to ship both of those sticks in the same box, PC doesn't know that and will just double the shipping cost. Without looking at your site (post the URL if you can), I'd say the issue may be that you need to set the item weight correctly (i.e. - stick of RAM = 2 oz with units to make 1lb. set at 8, rather than stick of RAM = 1lb) and tack on a hidden handling fee to cover the weight of the box or what not. We've got something like a $30 handling fee and while that sounds like alot, we've got to pay for boxes, tape, labels and the inevitable miscalculation in shipping costs. So far it's worked out perfectly. |

This is why I use regular products in BTO products vs. BTO items because you don't get thet ability to set the multiple product weight with a BTO item.
