To clarify a little further.  In the HP Laptops > Road Warriors category are 5 laptops.  The idea is to feature one of those 5 latops in the subcategory so we can draw attention to a particular product for a multitide of reasons.
Putting the featured product up one level on the site doesn't really make sense (atleast in this case) because the featured product of an "HP Laptop for a Road Warrior" is not entirely relevent to the user looking at the "Laptops" category.  They could be looking for some other type of laptop (e.g. Gaming Laptops, Lite & Thin.....)
Hope that makes sense.

	Currently there is no feature that allows you to highlight a product within a category, other than ordering the products so that the products that you want to highlight are shown first. That said, it would not be difficult for a programmer to add this capability (e.g. first N products of a category are always considered "featured" products and shown in a special way).
