   This is just a thought, although I did alter my software like this.

Promotions should have a start and stop date on the display.

Often times I see "Summer Sale" going on in January.  Well life gets busy it is hard to remember that on 1 product out of 2000 I put together a summer promotion.  Now that promotional text is outdated / expired.

A quick fix is to set a start and stop date / time.

"Free Shipping - promotion ends January 1st"

Start Date - 01-01-2011

End Date - 01-31-2011

Overall reduces time.

Allows me to set future promotions.

Allows me to end promotions automatically.

Set it and then forget about it.

Yada yada yada.
