I'm likely to go ahead with Product Cart soon but there's one area I can't work out. If we have a product that comes in difference sizes eg 12mm, 14mm, 16mm how can I show the actual price for those when using product options or Apparel Add-on? In other words, I don't want a base price with a premium for each size, just the item price. Would I have to start with a base of 0.00 and the use the actual price as the add-on? (or at least is this the easiest way of doing it?) Alternatively, is is straightforward to modify the Apparel system to use the sub-prpduct details for price instead of the main product? Presumably the data field is available to do this? Thanks in advance to anyone who can make a sound suggestion. Edited by MikeCC - 19-October-2007 at 7:34am |

We recently made a modification to the Apparel Add-on that allows the store administrator to easily switch the system to displaying the file price for all sub-products in the last drop-down, instead of the price differential. This change would allow for the scenario mentioned above (the "Size" drop-down would show the actual price for the various products).

Hi, Where in the store admin apparel demo is the option to display the file price for all sub-products in the last drop-down. |

Hi Kiwi, it's not yet an option in the Control Panel, but for now can be accomplished with a small source code modification: http://www.earlyimpact.com/faqs/afmviewfaq.asp?faqid=518 |

Thanks - I will do this when I have purchased ProductCart, but to slightly complicate things we have this scenario: We want customers to find what they want without fuss so if they select a 4ft tree from a dropdown of tree heights available in that tree type, we should show the price (not the base price differential) for that height of tree and a dynamically altered dropdown with pot options for 4ft trees, which should show the pot types and "add $xx.xx". One pot option will not have a price as the tree already comes in a pot used in manufacture which we call a utility pot and customers choose this option if they have their own pot. When added to the basket the two items should be grouped so we know that this tree is to be planted in the pot selected. We do not want to have each size of tree as a different product as we have too many and will complicate decision making and pots are also available to purchase without a tree. Which of your ProductCart shopping carts will cope with this out of the box and please can you instruct us on how to set this up in a demo? Many thanks Edited by kiwi - 04-March-2008 at 3:26am |

Hi Kiwi, for this type of complex sale you will need the Build To Order version of ProductCart with the Conflict Management system. ProductCart Build To Order was designed exactly to allow the sale of products and services that are defined by the customer during the purchasing process. The combination of BTO and Conflict Management will allow you to accomplish what you described:
