Private area question

   Hi, it's been a couple of years since I worked on a Product Cart store for a client.  He's now asking if there's a way to create a private area of products for a customer of his that would sign in.
Is there a way to make a separate products page that only a signed in customer can see without resorting to customizing ProductCart?

Are the alternate approaches that accomplish the same goal if the above is not possible?
