"Not Required" option with default item

   I am using product cart BTO with update 3.051b but I can't find the "Not Required" option so I can have a default item selected while still having the "none" option. Does anyone know how to add/turn on this option?

I am under a deadline and need a fix quickly. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
