We have a customer who is trying to order with billing address in Belgium and a shipping address in TX. Apparently there is no equivalent to "state" in Belgium, so she would just leave that field blank. However, the cart always fills in TX in the state field, even though she leaves it blank. The result is a wrong billing address, a problem for the credit card AVS. Can anyone think of a quick solution? Can I force a field to stay blank?

Hi,
I just tested with the latest version of ProductCart - When I change the Shipping Country to Belgium the Shipping State/Province field becomes an optional input field. |

This is most likely just an "auto-fill" issue. The customer's browser is auto-filling that field.

I have tried to edit from within the admin on product cart and I have the same results. TX is what shows up under state even when I delete it.

Change the "country" in the shipping address to Belgium - then the state should clear and stop being a drop-down. Perhaps the browser is then auto-filling it when it's no longer a drop-down as earlyimp said in the earlier post?

The country in the shipping address IS Belgium. There is no drop down. In fact, there is not a red star showing the state as required, and the box is blank. It is when you go 2 screens forward to the final checkout that the TX shows up under state. You can go to the website and easily repeat the mistake yourself. Go to creationsensation.com buy something, enter the billing addy as belgium, and the shipping as tx. It will show TX in the billing as well as the shipping. I've tried it with other states and the same thing happens.

Hi, Your right, I hadn't realised you were talking about a subsequent page. Please raise a support ticket so that the developers can investigate so that you get any fix arising from this issue.
