I used a very expensive and, turns out very inept designer to make some changes to my store. Is there a way to reset the store to its original installation wiping clean any of this idiots changes? Is there a set of files I can just upload to give me a fresh start? I'm not too bothered about losing my products and having to start again.

Also, are there any reputable designers out there who can give my lingerie store a good contemporary look?

Hi,
There are several active on the forum and also look at : http://www.earlyimpact.com/partners-dev.asp. There are also active and competent developers who are not on that list.
Always view past work and ask to talk to previous customers.

Mullins,

Resetting the store could be approached a couple ways.  Yes, the entire store can certainly be wiped ouit and the base code re-installed.  But there is a more gentle approach that would preserve your data, your existing settings, and overwrite any scripting changes they may have performed.

My recommendation is that you speak with an experienced PC developer who has sufficient familiarity with the application to understand what that process looks like and will do it competently.  Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss your project.
