After an order is placed, I goto the UPS online shipping tools to ship it.
The weight of the product is transferred to the right field. (6lbs in this case) The sizes for the box and the insurance value do NOT transfer. I have the sizes for the product entered into the fields in the product information. I think it may have something to do with the oversized items variable and such, but can't figure it out. If i try to process without entering the LxWxH i get this error: There was an error processing your request. Code: 10002 - Error: The XML document is well formed but the document is not valid If i enter sizes and process- all goes well. Is it possible to have the size and value transfered to the UPS shipping page automatically? Edited by e4h - 16-July-2009 at 3:54pm |

Ticket answer:
John, We do not carry over the package dimensions on purpose. The reason is that ProductCart only allows you to enter in one default package size to calculate estimated rates in the store front, unless the oversized setting is used for every product (as you stated you do). It's very often that this default box size isn't going to be used for all packages that are put together so it's very important the package dimensions and package weight is double checked after products have been packaged and then entered into the Control Panel. Since this is a real time process and charges are being applied, we have created this as a limitation of the UPS OnLine Tools system that this extra step is taken to ensure accuracy. Best Regards, Sheri Early Impact, Inc This is unfortunate. We ship anywhere up to 100 packages per day, and this really takes the "automation" out of it. Edited by e4h - 20-July-2009 at 1:31pm |
