We are based in Australia and I have setup a manual tax rate to add 10% GST for all customers based in Australia and no tax for customers outside Australia. The tax is only added on at the end though, is it possible to make the store display GST prices to all visitors before they login and then once logged in the correct price (inc. GST or ex. GST) is shown?

Australian GST is almost identical to European VAT.
Look at : http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/tax_vat
Please note a KEY change you will need to make - which is to enter the prices INCLUDING GST - which means you need to adjust all your prices. An easy way to do this is the Reverse Import Wizard : http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/export-import

Thanks, the problem we had was referring to "VAT" where Australians are used to the term GST. Is it possible to do a global change so wherever the term "VAT" appears, it says GST?

Hi,
Check the language files in the includes directory. You can change any of the "static text" in the store front by editing the language files.
