I want to apply a percentage off coupon to the entire order if certain products are in the cart. I know that this was the behavior in v3, but in v4 it only takes the percentage off those particular products. How can I change this behavior?

I run 4.0 sp3 and the coupon takes the discount off the entire order. Mind providing a link i can check out?

Add this product to the cart: http://www.barkleigh.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=341
Then, add any other product. Now, enter coupon code Christmas10 and see that it only takes 10% off the christmas cards, not the entire order. |

This is how ProductCart v4 and above are designed to work. We had received a huge amount of requests to change the behavior in ProductCart to do exactly that vs. how it behaved in v3.
This is the first time we receive the opposite request (i.e. to allow for the v3 behavior). For a future version, we can look at making this an option when you create a discount code. Unfortunately, that portion of the code is very complex, so this is likely not a 1-minute fix that we can provide "on the fly". We'll add it to our development wish list for the next version. |

I'm really confused now because I have a bunch of coupons in my store and I thought they add the discount to the entire order?
Mine must, because they aren't even restricted to a product. Is this something that was introduced in 4.1? Because I have 4.0 and don't know how to reproduce this functionality. |

Hi Brett,
Sorry for the confusion. Our message above strictly pertains to discount codes where category or product filters are in place. If there are no product/category filters, and the discount code is not applied to a shipping service, then it always applies to the entire order amount. Please see the documentation on Discount Codes for details: http://wiki.earlyimpact.com/productcart/marketing-discounts_by_code |

Cool, Thanks for the heads up earlyimp. Glad to have learned about this feature.
It sounds like the OP might just want to not restrict his coupon to the Christmas cards. |
