Can somebody please tell me how to turn off the message you receive when you return to the website and you still have items in your cart?

Thank you

Hi,
  It's not possible to turn it off at the moment, but the ability to do so will almost certainly be introduced in a future release. Saved carts was one of the most commonly requested for inclusion in V4.

Hi,
    Give this a try & please confirm if it works for you - This is an UNTESTED work around.
If it works OK I'll document it on the WIKI.

in pc/inc_SaveShoppingCart.asp - near the top of the code find :

for f=1 to pcCartIndex
    if pcCartArray(f,10)=0 then
        tmpCartHasPrds=1
        exit for
    end if
next

pcv_HasNewCart=0
pcv_MoveToReg=0
' Disable Save Cart feature : ** Your edit identifier here **
tmpCartHasPrds=0

And ADD the two lines at the bottom of the code section above.

HTH

Hi Hamish,

Thank for your help.  I modified the file like you requested and added the (2) lines of code.  I saved it and uploaded it, but unfortunately I am still getting the pop up message.

You can see the problem here:

http://cctactical.com.mytempweb.com/store/pc/home.asp

The problem is not so much the popup window in itself, but the fact that their is an issue with the Flash file behind it.  The flash file is overlapping the pop window and I haven't figured out a workaround.

You can test it by adding products to your cart, waiting like 30 minutes and then coming back to the store.

Hi,
  The small change should stop new saved carts being created.
In your admin pages there is an option : Help > Database Cleanup > Remove Saved Carts.  Run that and then test to see if new saved carts are being created.

Hi,
  OK, To stop saved carts being restored you can also try - in inc_RestoreShoppingCart.asp find (near the top of the code :

tmpGUID=getUserInput(Request.Cookies("SavedCartGUID"),0)
' Prevent Cart restore : your edit comment here
tmpGUID=""
IF tmpGUID<>"" THEN

Again, this has NOT been tested.

Just wanted to bump this thread.  I've used the technique that Hamish supplied in Post #3 several times now.  Not because the "cart notification" is a bad thing, but typically there is a Flash file or something behind the popup and it causes visibility issues.  Anyways, point being is that this method works, hopefully it is of help to somebody else here as well.  Thanks Hamish and ProductCart, continue to be blown away by your product and service.
