I would like to use the Rewards for Reviews program, ~without~ using the regular rewards for purchases. Do I have to have the purchase-rewards program turned on in order to run rewards for reviews?

If anyone knows the answer to this one, I'd really love to hear it -- of course, I've looked through the documentation and didn't see any statement specifically addressing this question. It might seem like a dumb question to you folks with more experience with this software, but the answer is important to me, and I'd like to move forward with this as soon as I can. Thanks!

Though not 100% sure...
You would most likely need to have it turned on in the reward points general settings for it to behave properly. As this setting most likely controls the behavior of the program during checkout, etc. The quickest way to be sure without tracing it out in the code would be to try it with a test order/review. Take care, Ted |

Hi, I see absolutely no reason this would not work. The reward points assigned to a product are independent of their price, although many stores choose to relate them. So if all products have zero reward points assigned to them, but you have points assigned in the Product Review Settings then this will achieve what you are after.
Mind you, the reward points value will have to be set quite high I would think to make it worthwhile for your customers if they can only gain reward points for reviews. |

Hamish,
Good Call. My mind got stuck on the product reward point correlation. I see now that if that product has 0 reward points associated the reference is omitted on the product detail page... oops! ![]() Hopefully my poor answer helped in some way... ![]() -Ted |

Hi Ted, Yep - it brought Charlies question back to my attention when I had some time to look at it :-)
It's very understandable to believe that reward points are related to prices as many many stores with reward points, if not most, operate that model. |
