Some of our products are only allowed to be sold in our state. Can this be done automatically, or are we going to have to just call our customers after their orders and tell them they can't buy the product?

I would love to see the option of eliminating some products from being send overseas. Katharina |

I don't know of anyway in Product Cart to handle that automatically. You could add text (or a graphic) to your item descriptions that states it is only available in your state. If you did custom code, the problem still is that people could add items to their cart and you couldn't check until the customer completes the first step of the checkout and enters their state. When they click Continue after entering their state you could add code to check for items that are only allowed in your state and display a message and take them back to the View Cart screen or just automatically remove the items from the cart.

That's not hard to do, just take the other countries out of your list, but again, that affects all your products. |

I heard from Early Impact on this. Officially, it can't be done. Products can be limited by zip code, but it's a blanket all or nothing issue. I'll just put an image on the affected products telling them the limit, and call and cancel orders if they don't pay attention to it. Thanks.
