Anyone else come up with an answer - to plugging in an allowance for typical shipping materials in the Product Cart? New PC website still under construction, and we must solve this problem. Our current cart mechanism adds about 5 oz. of weight to the order BEFORE any products are added (using accurate weights) - so that we come out with an appropriate weight allowing for the box, bubble-pack, brochures, etc. We need to duplicate this allowance in PC. We cannot just add a random # of ounces to each product because that would create innaccurate shipping weights a majority of the time, and customer pays all shipping. Any particular product may show up at various quantities within an order; so, it's just too complicated that was to make up for the weight of the box, etc.
I cannot believe that the PC does not make allowance for such a simple but necessary functionality; if you're selling products, you MUST pack them and ship - where there is weight involved.
Thanks in advance for any helpful comments. Terry

We had this on numerous occasions, and I hope product cart will include this option. I'm all for it. We currently added 50 cents to priority mail (use boxes from post office) and 1 dollar to everything else to offset it. A weight addition would be better.
