Hi, I found an easy method to switch from kgs to lbs and vice versa, just open /includes/shipFromSettings.asp file and search for "scShipFromWeightUnit" set the value to KGS or LBS as per your needs. Regards, |

Do not forget that if you change from one weight system to another that you will need to reassign the weights for each product, since the weight values have already been written to the database.

Thanks for the tip. What i observed that the weight is entered in gms in db. And in coding lbs and kgs both are actually calculated, but above was the variable that would switch between weight. Let me know if i am wrong.

Hi Sawan,
This is a very late reply, but yes, you are wrong I'm afraid. The value is not stored as grams. It's stored in whatever value the store is set to use. (Posted mostly for the benefit of others at this late date). |

Just a quick note so there isn't any confusion:
When the cart is setup you have a choice between "pounds" and "kilograms" this is a one time choice because the value saved in the database is based on this setting. If "pounds" is selected the weight is saved as "ounces" in the database. If "kilograms" is selected then the weight is saved as "grams" in the database. Therefore, if you setup your cart to use "pounds" and you have a product that you set as 1 pound 6 ounces, it would be saved as "22" in the database. If you simply change the variable mentioned above to "KGS" then the cart will assume the value in the database is grams and your product will now have the assigned weight of 22 grams. So if you do change your weight unit, you will need to also alter all the weights for your products. Here is an FAQ from our Knowledge base: Edited by earlyimp - 06-May-2011 at 11:36am |

See FAQ : http://www.earlyimpact.com/faqs/e-commerce_shopping_cart_questions.asp?faqid=200 , The values can also be updated using the reverse import wizard to export the SKU, Name & Weight, then recalculating the weight values in excel & re-importing.
