Hi,

I have a Product Cart installation (v4 SP3) and have setup an Authorize.net account. However I'm getting the following error when I try to proceess a test transaction.

Error 3: (TESTMODE) The credit card has expired.

I verified the API Login ID and Transaction Key and have tried test mode off and on at both my Product Cart url as well as authorize.net

The cart is currently on a development url so I don't have my ssl settings turned on. Could this be why I'm getting this error? I did read that Authorize.net needed SSL on to process transactions. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Followup - bad account from our MSP. Got a new one and we are all set. Auth.net was great to work with. Auth.net didnt need SSL on to test or process. Error was 100% on our MSP side who had setup the account but not enabled it!

Wouldn't be the first time an MSP code the digies wrong ;-)

The PC code here is totally solid, for sure though as this is the most popular gateway (though I don't really care for it much).

Word of advise though: if you are sandbox testing an API integration, then yeah, test mode make sense. But if your API integration is "out of the box", such as with ProductCart, don't even bother using test account; just go straight to live and test a transaction that way, as that is the only result that is important. If you have an issue with live mode, then step back.

As a merchant account agent and shopping cart developer for some 13 years, this is my advice.

After digging into this (my first Auth.net account) I concur. Its easy enough to test and void transactions. Thanks!
