Hello all. Can anyone tell me here the best way to add orders to the store remotely. I thought it was possible via the XML API but i cannot see anything in there to do this. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this? the best way that's not going to screw everything up!
Many thanks |

I have no knowledge of anyone who has done such a thing. From what source do you wish to migrate order data?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. We have an in house order system here. built using php and my sql. we use the xml to pull in and post customer info, placed orders etc. We put a small amount of orders on the in house system (its very complex and product cart cant handle it)what we need is for product cart to store some basic order information from this system. We also wish to have both systems running on the same order numbers. hmm i have confused my self now!
we want both systems to mirror each other. we can pull orders into the in house system but not post new ones back to productCart We were thinking of directly interacting with the database to put these orders in (EEEK) but im realy not keen on the idea |

Good luck with this.
There is no built-in functionality to accomplish this, and I've not encountered anyone that has done this. Perhaps EI will post if they know of someone who has performed such an integration.
Keeping your order numbers in synch is going to be quite a trick, especially if you are also taking orders via the web, but even without that consideration it's probably going to be a difficult task. You may need to carry a new field in the store that contains your offline ordering system order number and alter any necessary scripts that need to display that value.

Hi @florb,
I'm intieged. I love challenges like this.
However, my team and I are completely maxed out until January. If that isn't too long to wait, PM me and I'll at least spec this out for you.

I am interested in a way to do this also. We will be working as an affiliate for another company and will need to download their orders for processing and shipping through our system. I may even set them up as another PC store so there are no conflicts with my web store. I don't know how to be able to import the orders as an xml file if this is even possible.
