There is no way to do so out of the box. Of course, it could be done by customizing the code a bit. However, please note that having that field checked by default would violate the law in many countries, as most countries require that people "opt-in" to receive communications from any company, rather than "opt-out".

I understand the reasons and perhaps its best left. It was a question I was aksed by customer earlier today.
