Valid shipping address verification?

   I've just been notified that we're seeing in excess of 50% error rates for shipping addresses that are entered as an alternate shipping address.

Is anyone doing any real-time or batch address verification for shipping purposes? Ideally the results would be corrected if wrong, enhanced with ZIP + 4 and the like, and could be imported or corrected on the fly into ProductCart.

Any ideas?
