Can I make 2 suggestions:

1. That an additional field is added to the Company Information - VAT/Tax #:  Legally the VAT number needs to appear on every invoice in the UK. At present the only way to do this is use one of the Company Information fields - in our case the address field. We then use the city, state and post code fields for the address.  Another field for Company Registration #: would be helpful as well as this again is a requirement for display.  Perhaps 2 "Additional Custom Fields" ?

2. Allow for cross tax charges across multiple countries.  i.e. If a product is sold in the UK then 17.5% VAT is chargeable.  If a sale is made to another company in a country in the European Union and they provide a VAT number then NO VAT is chargeable, if they do not provide a VAT number, or it is a consumer purchase then VAT is chargeable and in some cases at the local country rate. The local country rate can vary - 10% - 25% depending on the country and their rates of VAT for that particular product or products.  Every sale OUTSIDE the EU does NOT incur VAT. For example - a customer wishes to make a purchase from the USA and have delivered to the USA - VAT is NOT chargeable on that order to that customer.

I totally agree. I tried to Tax by country so all those that were within the EU were taxed at 17.5% however this resulted in the prices shown on the site as VAT exclusive and not inclusive as is the norm and VAT was then added to the final bill which is not what a normal consumer would expect.....

I hope a way round this is sorted soon as I would like to be able to sell to the USA without charging VAT.....

Anybody have any suggestions?
