I am working on a cart where most of the products are driven by product options.  Here is the address:

When you go into a gift registry (example is last name Holt), the generic product name is there, but the options are not listed.  In order to see the options, you have to click on the product name one by one.  It is not easy to just "put something in the cart because you don't necessarily know what they wanted.

At first blush, it looks like the person wanted 3 of the same things...but you find out that one is towels, the next is wash cloths, etc.

Is there an "option" to list the selected options on the gift registry page?

Hi,
Your store looks a great candidate to use the Apparel Add-on (if you don't have it already). For example the Abyss Super Pile towels come in a variety of sizes and colors. Using the Apparel Add-on each variation could have it's own SKU, stock levels and images and I believe it would also resolve this issue as well.

my only concern about getting this add-on (besides customer approval) is that we're going live tomorrow with the store.  Is it advisable to put in an add-on while "live".  Also, is there a temporary work-around on this?

Adding the Apparel Mod to a live store, providing the pages that it overwrites are in stock form, can be done in minutes and is seamless.

You turn the store off, upload a small number of files to 3-4 folders, log in to the admin so that the database update will be triggered, and turn the store back on.

Best to precede all of this with a site and database backup, but that mod has been around a very long time - it is totally stable - and I have never seen installing it cause any grief.

Once it is in and the store turned back on, you can play with creating apparel products as you see fit.

my customer is still concerned about this...

the problem is that in the "cart", you can see the options, but you can't see them on the gift registry.  This is an update that should be available as part of the standard cart...

I'm concerned that adding the apparel add-on, we would have to go in and assign SKU's to every product option in order for this to work.  We literally have hundreds of products ready to go, most of them with options on them already.

All we want the gift registry to do is look like the products do in the shopping cart.

Is there a solution?

We are reviewing the source code to see what needs to be done. If this is something that can be easily addressed, we'll be happy to do so. If not, this may need to be queued with other development projects.

We will let you know.

Here are updated files for v4.

- Download the ZIP file
- Unzip it
- Upload the two files to the "pc" folder

These files assume that you are running ProductCart with "Parent Paths Enabled" and that you are NOT using the Apparel Add-on.

These updated files will be part of the next official ProductCart release.
