Hi,
We have a lot of custom .shtml pages on our site, and when I tried to take the header.html file used for these pages, and paste it into the header.asp file - so the store pages match the other .shtml pages - there are spacing issues, that cause the layout on the header.asp to not line up with the other shtml pages. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with settings in the pcStorefront.css file - but I don't know what I need to change, so the header/footer.asp will look the same as the header/footer.html files we use on our shtml pages. Is, anyone really good at this type of thing? All the code is rather basic, so it shouldn't be real hard to figure out - but I have tons of other stuff to do with getting our store moved over to ProductCart, so I don't have time to work out these small display issues. If, anyone thinks they are can help - please drop me a PM or note in this thread, and I'll PM you the code/urls. Thanks. Edited by JWL - 15-August-2008 at 2:28pm |

I figured out what's causing the change in the two headers, it's this:
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> That is in the header.asp but not our header.html - can we remove this from the header.asp? I have done so, temporarily and now all the pages match up as they should be. What harm will removing this do to the site? We've never used it on our current site. Please, help out if you have any info. Thanks. |

browse your entire store with multiple versions of IE, FF and other major browers. Removing the doctype, which the CSS commends indicate is a requirement, will likely cause moderate to significant formatting issues.
