Import Products with category id instead of name

   Is there a way to bulk import products with category id instead of the category name?

I'm doing a project for a client and they have 3 tiers of categories, many of the 2nd tier categories have the same category name.  When bulk importing, I put in the 2nd tier name in the parent category field and the 3rd tier name in the category name field.  This puts many of the products in the wrong categories which is a big problem since there are around 12,000 products.  Has anyone experienced this before and have a fix?

	Hi, if this is a one off then temporarily rename the categories so they are different, then do the import and rename them back again.

	That is a good idea to get all the products on there but the company updates their products daily.

	Hi, In that case I would advise looking into automating it with the XML API. By the way, this should only be an issue when you FIRST import a specific product. Once it's in and the Categories are correctly set you should only import the fields that are changing - ESPECIALLY if your doing so daily! As long as the SKUs match (and the SKU's are unique - please make sure they are!) the record will be updated.
