Increase Custom Imput Field Name Length

   Is there any reason that would prevent inceasing xfield length from 50 to the maximum 255 characters? 
I want to add HTML and or additional instructions to the custom input field titles that goes beyound the 50 characters limit.

	Hi, If you are referring to the WIKI documentation for Custom Input Fields, the reference to 50 characters is a "For Instance", so 255 characters is fine. You can use a text field or a text area.

	No, I am talking about the actual xfield database field title for a product. It has a limit of 50 characters. I can modify it within the database but I don't know what the ramifications are for doing so. Like I said before I want to add additional HTML such as <a href... to point to a popup for instructions on how to complete the input field.

	I am having problems with this also, I need a lengthy description but a short date field entry box. I also get an error message that html cannot be used but I don't have any in the description.

	This feature should be improved to allow for a separate description for how to fill out the input field, similarly to how "Special Customer Fields" already work. We plan on adding this in the future. Probably Q1 of 2010.
