Low Inventory question

   Hello,

I am asking this on behalf of a customer.

Right now, in the Control Panel - he can set his inventory to "0", but a customer can still purchase and checkout with that product.  

How can we set it up so if it's out of stock, then the ability to purchase the item is disabled?
