My new store has gone live, using V3.12 with apparel add on. Sometimes I need to log in myself as a customer, to place an order received by mail or on the phone, and this is no problem. However, occasionally I need to give a different price to these customers (e.g. they may have an old catalogue) and I need to over-ride the price shown on viewprd.asp. In my previous shopping cart software, this was easy, because in admin mode the price field was a text box in which I could alter the price.

I do not want to create special customer discounts or coupon codes because these occasions are always one-offs, but I need to be able quickly to either adjust an item price while placing an order, or to make an adjustment to the order total. Has anyone done this? I'm fairly proficient in vbscript.

Since this is an occasional happening the easiest solution would be to adjust the amounts after the order is completed. You can edit each order either by changing the unit price or a total discount amount. After you have updated the order, you could process it and send the customer an email with the new total information.

To do this, click on the order number under Recent Orders, then click edit order under the General tab.

Great idea. Thanks for the suggestion - I didn't realise an order could be edited like this.
