I notice that some of the guides in the support section have been updated for V3.1 in readiness for the release.

I am getting quite excited.  A bit sad really.  Maybe I should get out more.

I have been hanging on for 3.1 before for making my store live.  Certainly worth the wait.  I particularly welcome pick lists, and as a UK customer it is great to see the enhanced VAT support and Google Checkout support for the UK.  It is great to see you looking after your customers across the pond.

Thanks Early Impact

The v3.1 update will be available today.  Use your "check for updates" link from your control panel to start checking this afternoon.

There was a minor glitch with a redirect, which has just been fixed.  Please try again, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

After going through the Upgrade Process from v3.051 tp v3.1, I am unable to access the Admin Menu.

menu.asp in the Admin Section now redirects me to upddb3051.asp

This typically happens when the permissions are not properly set and ProductCart cannot update the file "includes/settings.asp" with the new version number. Please open a support ticket.

Dont know anybody else but finding the update a little buggy.

Problems encountered so far.

1) In include-metatags, you cannot have a . (Dot) in Const DefaultTitle =

Spits errors all over the shop.

2) Changing views from Horizontal, vertical on Display products doesnt seem to work anymore.

3) Errors on Order verify page.

Description: Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment<p>query=SELECT pcprod_HideBTOPrice,pcprod_QtyValidate,pcprod_MinimumQty FROM products WHERE idproduct=3

Then errors occur on all products, until brower is closed and reopened.

Thats where im up to... Anybody else also havin issues?

I had trouble also. Tech support was able to sovle my problem very quickly and the solution was very basic. I uploaded all the files via FTp, or so I thought. I clicked on the folder for pc and thought I had uploaded all the files. After a double check, we realized we had missed a lot of files. I suggest you go into to your FTP client and check each folder to make sure you uploaded all the files in each folder. I had the same check out and view cart errors, but they are working well now after I went through and uploaded a few dozeon missed files.

Hi RobertZ,

Thank you for your reports. I am sorry to hear your updating is not going as planned. I have investigated these issues and I am not able to reproduce any errors on our v3.1 demo stores.  I have a period in my Meta tags and they all work. The error you received on “OrderVerify.asp” indicates the update script was not run successfully. Please follow jefe275's advice as FTP problems often cause these types of anomalies.  If you are still having trouble please open a support ticket.

HI Matt

Yeh, not sure about the metatags.

1st Issue - If I put a dot , I get erros. If I take it out, it works... strange.. Not a biggy really.

2nd issue about cats. This is my issue. We had edited the original viewCats file...

3rd issue - Will open support ticket. Still being a pain to get it going. Verified FTP upload is correct. Correct amount of files and sizes match.

I still seem to getting the redirect error when checking for updates.  I note some people have been downloading 3.1 already so am wondering whether the glitch has returned.

In cases like this, definitely submit a support ticket as other forum members are not likely to be able to assist you.

We're having issues with USPS shipping rates. With some products, 1st Class, Priority and Parcel options, will all show up fine. On other products, only Parcel will show and then yet on other products it may be something else. I have found that with the Priority, if you choose one of the flat rate options will come up, but not if you choose 'Your Packaging'.

Tech support is working on it for me....

Melanie,

I had my shipping options set to use both UPS and USPS (Priority) with both set to use "Your Packaging" before upgrading to v3.1. Now only UPS shows unless I add USPS (Express), but then only Express is an option and Priority doesn't show at all. I'm sure it's the same issue you're having. Let us know if there is any resolution.

Wanted to let you know this has been fixed for me. I don't know what tech support did so I can't help you there. If you're still having the issue, put in a trouble ticket. I'm sure they can fix you up!

We have temporarily pulled the updaters to address a couple of minor issues that were found by the 'early adopters', and will re-post them again as soon as everything has been re tested.  Please check back again tomorrow.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

I just upgraded from 3.051 to 3.1 and noticed a significant performance degradation.  The home page and search pages - especially - took 10+ seconds to load.

I am running a Windows dedicated server with a shared SQL server (MS SQL 2005) on a separate server.  I thought perhaps the lag could be due to the hardware being in separate data centers.  However, I copied the remote database to a local copy of SQL Server 2005 Express and still the pages took too long to load.

Anybody else experiencing this issue?  I'm going back to 3.051 for now.

We have found and fixed this issue.  Please download the following Zip and upload the included files to the 'pc' folder on your server:

Hi Again.

I've narrowed down a couple of my issues.

1) (Period in Meta) Not sure what caused this but solved.

2) Fixed

3) For some reason having a small cart inside the header was causing the SQL error.

Another problem I've got in HTTPS mode the 'Recent Viewed Items' is drawing on a http link causing "Secure and non-secure' error. Its not coming from the images.. Had a look at the code but cannot work where its coming from.

On a side note, it would be handy if PC could issue not only updates but the complete store, when updates occur. I rebuilt our store from 3.05 today, and applied 3.051, then 3.1 and found it to be a very long and drawn out process. Would have been handy just to have a complete 3.1.

Rob

Hi - not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but

one of the new features of v3.1 is the "View Control Panel Logs". Is there a way to purge these log files from the Product Cart Control Panel once they are viewed? I did not see a setting for this. Does this need to be done manually via MS SQL Manager or FTP? I am still adding products to my store, so my log files have become quite large and I need to delete some of the log.

Can someone tell me if the latest Version 3.1 has been officially released and is available for download yet?

I am running two sites, both with Version 3.052a and it still keeps showing that there are no updates available for your version of ProductCart at this time!

Thanks

Yes it is.  If you do the upgrade option in your admin panel it will download the official version of 3.1.

I now have this running and it seems fine.

cheers

Thanks for your reply Mark.

I actually was checking for updates thru our admin control panel, I think for some reason the updater is not recognizing our current version 3.052a.

Guess i will have to submit a support ticket.

Thanks

Check the version shown in your includes/settings.asp

It uses that to reference whether the upgrade needs to be done.

cheers

Thanks again for your help Mark!

I went ahead & issued a support ticket and the fine people at EarlyImpact quickly got me squared away. The updater was just bypassing my version for whatever reason.

I am actually updating our site right this minute!
