Thanks,

As long as it supports the PC requirements:  http://www.earlyimpact.com/productcart/system_req.asp - http://www.earlyimpact.com/productcart/system_req.asp  it should work. If it is a dedicated server you should be in good shape as long as you can use SQL server as the database. I wouldn't recommend using Access for any web application. Shared hosting environments are usually OK for PC but can tend to cause slowness if the shared web server gets busy with too many other sites. We've had multiple clients who have switched from a shared hosting environment to increase performance.

Great, thanks for that.
What about using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (MSSEE) which is free?

PC runs fine on SQL 2005. We haven't tested with SQL Express. It should work fine but you would just need to check what, if any, restrictions there are for using that such as simultaneous users, etc.

Great, thanks for that, I dont think there are any, as I use it for other similar bespoke web apps I have written. So should be OK. I guess I will have to have a go and see. Many, many thanks for a prompt reply.

There is a 4 GB database size limit but unlimited connections, I think 4Gb should be OK, but am not sure what a typical DB size is, if there is one.

Thanks,

In our experience, 4GB should be a lot more than you will ever need for one PC site. We have clients with over 10,000 products and 1000's of customers and orders and DB size is under 100 MB.
