Hi,
I am mid way through my first development on PC. All seems to be very good.
However just the other day, the shop home page (home.asp) started to display a ? instead of a the currency symbol. I have no idea why. All other pages display it correctly, just this one page is giving the error. The Ajax pop up displays the currency symbol, just not on the main page. Using firefox, the html validator says the page contains invalid characters, but so far i am unable to find them. Here is the page: http://www.jambohut.com/jh_shop_v01/pc/home.as - http://www.jambohut.com/jh_shop_v01/pc/home.as p It is work in progress and there are very few products in it, but you can get the idea.
At the same time and possbilby unrelated, the host I use, had some trouble with my server external access, so the Msxml2.XMLHTTP componant stopped working, This has been fixed, but i am not sure if they have changed any permissions etc. I have check all I can and it seems fine. It could be unrelated, but i just felt i would mention it.
Any thourgths would be much appreciated.
Cheers...

Are you still seeing this? I see the currency symbol for British Pounds.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Strangely, mow on IE I see the currency as you say but on Firefox I see the ?
Most odd, as earlier today it was the ? and i have not been working on it.
Maybe its me and my version of firefox or something silmilar.
Thanks for looking anyway.
Its beyond me. :-)

Brilliant, Many many thanks. all sorted.
Though stangely, i need to add: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" >
Rather than: utf-8
But it seems to have done the trick, unless its me and everyone else is now seeing it wrong.
Thanks again. fantastic. :-)
I guess it could be down to my host and what they have been fiddling with.
