I only offer digital downloads and there is no reason for me to have the customers enter a mailing address.  Is there any way to disable this part of the registration so that it can become an OPTION rather than a REQUIREMENT to register?

I've seen this today.  It's under shipping options called let customer ship to another address.  I hope that this will eliminate the 2nd mailing address.

I don't think that's right cuz I'm trying to remove ALL address options, not give them the option to ship elsewhere since there is no physical product to ship.  KWIM?

This is a long shot and I apologize if you have already tried this, however, have you set your downloadable products up to be as "Non-Shippable"

Can you tell me how to do that?  I'm not sure where to look for that.

You will find this setting towards the bottom of your product details pages:

"Downloadable Product Settings"

Hope this information is helpful.

Maybe I'm confusing you.  I don't need to know where the downloadable products are.  I'm simply trying to TURN OFF the requirement for people to have to input an address when they register in the shop.

Ok, my mistake, sorry. I understand now that you are attempting to disable the ship to address requirement storewide, during registration for any/all products.

Could have sworn there was a setting to disable the ship to address fields, however, I just poked around our store admin and also was unable to find a setting for this

Stuck was on the correct track. The setting to flag the product as "No Shipping" is on the product details page.  You can also use the Global Settings to change all products at the same time.

Next, set "Hide shipping address Input form when only products flagged as "No Shipping Required" are in the cart." on the Shipping settings screen.

Here is the blurb that I had remembered reading from the Product Cart KB several months ago:

"If no shipping options are enabled, ProductCart skips the shipping module during checkout, including the feature that allows customers to select a separate shipping address."

I don't know if this would have any effect at all at removing the ship to address fields from the registration page...........

Thanks!  I tried that, but it is still requiring the customer to enter an address when registering.  All I want the customer to have to do is enter an email address and a password.  There is no reason for my customers to need to enter any other pertinent information.

Don't you need some address for credit card processing?  I think you should have some customer information to avoid fraud.  I do not think pc lets you have customers shop without any address information.  You may need custom programing to go round this.

I don't accept credit cards in the shop.  I accept PayPal only which has a credit option.  So the only thing I need is their name, email address.  For security, I have their IP and their paypal information once they make payment.
