Has anyone tried changing the output that productcart generates to display price breaks.  At the moment productcart shows the £ or $ discount that is applied to the base price rather than the net discount itself.

If I had a tier of price discounts for a product I would like a customer to be able to see the actual price they would pay for each discount quantity rather than the discount off the base price.

I.e Optpricebreaks.asp displays "Discount per price break" when I wish it to display "Base Price less Discount per price break".  Does anyone have any ideas ?

Matt

Matt, a client hired us to perform that mod.  I looked around and find that I didn't retain a  local copy, but I do remember generally how I did it.

Is this what you have in mind?

If I remember correctly, it's just a matter of intercepting the value and doing the math before you display the value.  You have to grab the price from the product table because I don't think it was immediately available, but once you have it - you add the price to the discount and display the result.

Hi Greg,

Yes you hit the nail on the head here and the mod for your client was exactly what I was looking for initially.

However, I then decided that I wanted to display some other info in the pricebreaks display which was different for each product so I disabled the existing price breaks display box and used the same javascript call in the product description to different modified pricebreak files.  This was only viable because I only have a handful of products with pricebreaks applied.

Thanks again.  Not for this post, but for the replies you have made to posts from other users.  You have indirectly helped me on numerous occasions.

Best Regards

I appreciate the kind words Matt.  We build a fair number of PC-powered stores and it is mutually beneficial to actively participate in this forum.

Here's a recent example of our work:
