Hi,

Admin: Product Reviews turned on, includes a field 'description'; type 'text area'.

However, when a user will submit 'Write your own review' on the product page link, under 'Submit Your Review' window that pops-up there is no 'Use HTML Editor' button.

When you go to Admin, and will view/edit the pending reviews, the admin will have access to the Use HTML Editor.

I'm almost sure this is just a case of a few lines of code to be inserted on the 'Submit Your Review' page that pops-up (possibly prv_postreview.asp?).

Would appreciate some help what line of code I should insert to enable the Use HTML Editor on the post review page. Thanks!

Jas

Hi Jas,
I suspect the lack on an HTML editor on the public side of the website may be part of the security - preventing hostile links being posted. If that's not the case then I guess there's no reason to not allow/insert it.

Anyone from EA or with greater knowledge of this than I care to comment?

Hi, thanks for your reply. On further thought I think it is also good measure not to allow html coding for the reviews as someone might sneak-in a bad javascript or code to it. However it should be nice if a simple hard return will register as a 'return' on the window. Whenever a reviewer writes a 3-4 paragraph review, without realizing it upon administration it shows only as one thick paragraph.

My other question is I hope there will be some kind of further development with regards to the Product Reviews such as:

- requiring users to register before submitting a review
- ability to sort the other reviews of the user (on the website, not just the admin page)
- notification of the user if his review is posted or rejected (w/ notes)

Anyway, I like to see more improvements with PC's Product Reviews section. That will certainly be an added bonus :).
