Hi all,
I'm using Vertical Responds for my monthly newsletters.
Since PC has the option for users to opt-in/-out for a newsletter, I'm wondering if it's possible to:
a) Have an email send to me when someone opt-in/-out ?
 OR
b) export the list of people who have opt-in for the newsletter

This way I can import them and/or modify them manually in Vertical Responds..

Anyone done this before or have a better solutions to this?

Hi,
Exporting a list is easy enough.  Go to you admin pages & then :-
Reports > Custom Data Exports.
In the customer section the "Newsletter Subscriber" is one of the tick boxes.
The XML section, just below "Custom Data Exports" also has a customer option - so would almost certainly meet your needs as well, but would take more setting up.

This is what we have been working on in terms of the http://www.earlyimpact.com/productcart/mailup/ - real-time integration with MailUp , which will be officially announced soon. It's a pretty cool integration, you should take a look.

NWEB, developers of MailUp, are a good partner (and know ProductCart quite well), so we've been able to work closely to create something that, in our view, makes a lot of sense.

One of the nice features is to be able to decide which of your lists (you can have unlimited) you want to show in your ProductCart storefront. Customers can then opt-in and opt-out separately and everything is updated in real-time in your MailUp console.

Filtering and exporting is built-in too. One click to send a filtered list from ProductCart to MailUp (e.g. everyone that purchased product XYZ in the last 2 weeks).

Hi,
One more thought - You could also amend the email that gets sent to you (if you have it enabled in the Settings > Email Settings) to tell you whether the customer has subscribed.
The only issue with that is that customers can change their subscription status & you wouldn't be notified if they do so - unless of course you do some custom coding.

I suspect the data export route is the simplest & cleanest, although it does involve logging in each time.
I also noticed from the EA email earlier that there is an add-in that integrates with a company called "mailup" - See the add-on section of the ealyimpact website.
