I asked Product Cart Tech Support this question

Is there any way to "trigger" a change of customer type from retail to wholesale by the purchase of a product?

We're using "wholesale" for our loyalty program. In other words, when a customer pays to become a "Friend" they get Friend discounts (ie wholesale prices).

It would be very smooth if the act of buying a product (that is, a Friend Membership) triggered a change in their status from retail to wholesale.

Is there a way?
