I wonder if someone out there can help us.

Some time ago we received help from Product cart to place our VAT registration number in the top right hand corner of our invoices. It was a few years ago now and I cannot recal how we did it.

Now, we have de-registered for VAT and I need to remove our VAT number. I am using Product Cart v 2.76p

Can anyone guide me to the file within Product Cart that I need to adjust please.

Thanks

Barry

Hi Barry,

It should be OrdInvoice.asp in the pcadmin folder.

Just a note, I would encourage you to upgrade to the latest version of Product Cart to protect your site against the SQL Injection issues that have been spreading around the Internet.

Hi,
Changing VAT status has several implications as far as ProductCart is concerned.
For a start "When you enter prices in ProductCart, they are always entered VAT included. When you add a product to your store, the product's price includes VAT. The system gives you the option to show the price without VAT on the product details page."

So in theory your pricing needs adjusting.
I assume you have already amended the tax settings.

There are several ways this may have been achieved.
It may be hard coded in pc/custOrdInvoice.asp  (asuming the filename is the same - I'm on V3.11).
The two best approaches to tracking it down are :-
- Search the whole directory structure of the site for your VAT number.
- View the page in question on your site by raising a test order and look at the URL.
There's a good chance the VAT number will be on more than one page so I advise searching the whole site directory structure. There are several tools available to do this including Dreamweaver if you have it and free ones available from the web.
