Hi,

I noticed just now that my weight field is in lbs instead of Kg.  I know there was a note in the beginging that said this was an important step and it cannot be changed.  I believe this happened since I was having problems with the SQL script and activation, where I kept going back and forth, I must have forgot about setting that part on the last time when I got it to work.

I am still configuring ProductCart and have not went online.  What I have done so far was customizing some of the pages including the header/footer.  I have added all my products.

Is there anything I can do now?

John

I had a client do the reverse of this when he first started with his site.   Here is the e-mail we received when we asked EI what to do.

========================
To let the cart know you wish to use pounds, you will need to manually change the following line in the file "shipFromSettings.asp" located in the /includes/ folder:

From:
private const scShipFromWeightUnit="KGS"

To:
private const scShipFromWeightUnit="LBS"

Hi,
  To expand on Greg's answer. There is an FAQ about this :
http://www.earlyimpact.com/faqs/e-commerce_shopping_cart_questions.asp?faqid=200 - www.earlyimpact.com/faqs/e-commerce_shopping_cart_questions.asp?faqid=200

There's a section on that about converting the stored weight values & using SQL code to do it. Assuming the values will need converting (I'm not sure either way on that) another approach, which I think would work, would be :-
- Export the product data (Reports > Custom Reports > Reverse Import Wizard) including the weight field.
- Change the constant as per the FAQ & Gregs post.
- CHECK if the weight values are now incorrect.
  - If so, re-import the exported values - if necessary after having updated the spreadsheet values.

Hi Greg, I just stumble about a bit LOL - I happened to remember there was an FAQ about it from last time I looked at them. It may even have been created as a result of your original email to EA..

Thanks guys.

I just wanted clarify that I added my products to ProductCart but I have not entered the weight fields yet.

Does this mean I only need to modify the "shipFromSettings.asp" that greg mentioned above and nothing else?

Hi John,
    In that case, yes, there's no weights to fix.
The export/Import tool could still be useful though as you can add all the details in a simple spreadsheet, which saves navigating through panels etc.

Hi Hamsih,

So there is no difference that I modify the page now vs when I first activated it, correct?
The change I make manually to the file "shipFromSettings.asp" would be same result if I had done it correctly when I activated?

I'm pretty sure that's correct, otherwise the FAQ would have additional info on it.
