It would be nice, if there would be a place to put an estimated shipping time frame or other notes on the ShipRates.asp file. UPS puts it in nicely, but USPS does not. USPS simply leaves it black or puts in "varies". We have tons of customers who choose parcel post, because it is cheap. They think it is as fast as UPS Ground, but it isn't. Parcel Post can take up to 6 weeks getting from Oregon to New York. Those customers later call and complain, and then they state that there was nothing about that at checkout. That's where they are correct! International customers get the "varies" for shipping time. That means nothing. Worse USPS states on their own website 10 days for international shipping. Bogus. We have seen as bad as 8 weeks. We would like to have a field for each service where we can put in a time frame or note in ourselves. A small note like "2-4 weeks, local customs may delay delivery, time not guaranteed". At the same time we could add to UPS International "UPS will charge a customs clearance fee plus duties at the time of delivery". Adding this information to the delivery confirmation cuts out any complaints about not knowing.... Katharina

Hi Katharina, At the bottom of the Shipping > Shipping Settings page is an option to show text of your choice at the top or bottom of the shipping page shown to customers.

With regard to USPS saying 10 days for international shipping, they only handle the delivery as far as the border, each countries own postal service(s) carry out the in country delivery, so it's not within their control for that part of the delivery time.

We already use the text on the bottom of the screen for free shipping info.
We are still getting complaints from customers about shipping times. It's not our fault, but they tell us that we are not telling them upfront. An additional field behind each shipping option would be helpful for us to display notes like that.

Hi Katharina, That's a pretty good suggestion. Please add that to the V4 Top 5 section of the forum.
I would suggest moving the text to the top and formatting it with some HTML/CSS to make it unmissable. People tend to not read beyond the point in the page that they think they need to.

I agree, this would be very helpful to have a changeable field. We run into this a lot and have seasonal changes that notes may change throughout the year. Even adding a "see below" for shipping times would be better than nothing.

It would be nice to show the UPS ground shipping map on the UPS page shipping page too. A ZIP code gif image can be generated on the following URL http://www.ups.com/maps?loc=en_US - http://www.ups.com/maps?loc=en_US It can be downloaded and uploaded to PC to have it show in that place. That way customers close can see that they may not need 2nd day air and can use ground instead. Katharina

That is what I did on my site www.tastefulgarden.com but I included it in html code that I put into the shipping information box at the bottom of the shipping settings page. I added the fedex map too. The only problem is getting folks to scroll down to the bottom to read it!
