Hopefully, I just missed it in the current v2.76p2, but, it would be good to log the date and time that an order is placed. Thanks

The date of the order is displayed on the order list and in the top right when viewing an order. The time of the order is not tracked in 2.x.

Doh    It is in 3.x, right ?

Any way to get some snapshots or info about 3.x that would help us folks that are still within the 30day window?

Yes, v3 does record the time the order was placed. See attached screen shot of the new Order Details page in the Control Panel, which features CSS-based tabs. We will make demo stores available soon.

Talking about time tracking.  What about a cut off time for same day shipping?  Lets say I have one for noon.  So anyone ordering afterwards will have a screen pop up, possible at shipping rate choice page, that their order will go out the next day.   Very useful for customers, who like to use next day air.

The 'next day air' may need to be some custom code since there are alot of 'it depends'.   Myself, can visualize some code for us, but, will still probably keep it 'very general' since I do not want to go to the work of dealing with holidays/weekends and type of products.   Well, ok, also, that 'next day air' increases the chance of fraud as well, so, they may need to be contacted in order for the shipment to even get sent.

Hmm, come to think of it, I don't remember seeing an IP address in the order details. freak

Your best bet for Shipping Notes is to enter them in the "Other Settings" section of the Shipping Settings screen in the Control Panel. You can display a title and message at the top or bottom of the Shipping page during checkout. If you choose to show the message at the bottom of the page you also have the option of only showinng the message if shipping rates are returned.
