We are a small non-profit that wants to integrate ProductCart into an exising CMS-type website that uses ASP.NET 2.0 SQL Membership, Roles and Profiles providers for login, registration, member profile editing, etc. We want to have a single registration/login process. Will this work with ProductCart?

Not without modification.  ProductCart has its own database which inludes login references for admin users, drop shippers, affiliates and wholesale/retail customers.  There are specific locations within the application that facilitate such logins.

For you to integrate these login scripts with the user profiles in your legacy application would take a fair bit of review and re-programming of each login page.

Thanks for the reply, Greg. Actually, what we're doing is starting up a new website. We have a legacy website that we going to take much of the content from, but for the new website, we envision usig a CMS-type framework like SitFinity. We want a common SQL Server database for membership, roles and profiles. We would want to be able to build on the ProductCart database to add additional roles and be able extend the profiles to include our membership fields for registered users. We just want to make sure we have a common user registration, login and profile process, with roles that we can use to control access to various parts of the new site and content management features. Although we sell books and supplies, we are primarily supported by donations, so we want our members and friends to be able to donate online and including recuring (monthly or quarterly) billing, but this may be a feature that ProductCart does not have.

Well, all I can suggest is that you deploy PC in stock form initially and make sure you have it running well, and that you have begun to attain a thorough understanding of the application before moving on to the wider integration process.

I still recall the first time that I was asked to intgrate a message board login with other login features in a membership-supported web site.  It was a lengthy and challenging process.
