I have a site that uses javascript in the header.  When you click on the drop down menu, the selected items to choose from do not appear correctly.  I'm asking if a particular form of java script works better with Early Impact ShopCart.  Please follow link to see how my drop down menus are functioning.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Could you point out a couple examples as to what is wrong please?

It's not likely going to be a matter of what is compatible with PC so much as being cross-browser compliant, search engine friendly, and easy to maintain.

Give us some specifics so we know what the issues are, then perhaps a solution can be offered.

If you open the link to my site http://amishfurnituremakers.com/ - http://amishfurnituremakers.com  then  select Customer Service in the Header you will see the  Contact Us and Return Policy menu items extending past the black boarder line on the right.  The brown/gray shading extends past the black boarder line box for the selected option.  Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Wondering if you may have used a generator for this menu?  There are issues with IE 7 and 8, while FF and IE6 are just fine.  Maybe the folks who created the generator have an update?

This sort of JS dropdown tends to have somewhat bloated code.  We use a CSS-based dropdown menu that only requires JS for IE6, but for later browsers it works with CSS alone.  www.chiccorporateapparel.com and www.euphoriababy.com are examples of using such code.

The nice thing about this approach is that once set up, the menu is administered simply by changing the UL and LI tags, and CSS if necessary.  It's better for SEO, better for browser compliance.

I believe the code is from http://www.cssmenus.co.uk/dropdown.html

You may wish to experiment with that, and if you would like it implemented for you, feel free to contact me.
