Hi,

I use off-line credit card processing and I'd like customers to fill in the cvv2 number (the last 3 security numbers on the back of a credit card) when they place an order. Does anyone know how I can implement this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is against the law. There are regulations set by all credit card companies that specificaly prohibit anyone from storing the card security code in any format. Here is a copy of the regulations that credit card companies have sent to all merchants in the US:

This is the reason why ProductCart no longer allows you to show (and therefore collect) the card security code when using "offline" credit card processing. Any shopping cart system that allows you to do this is in violation of the law. Violating these merchant requirements can result in large fines.

If you are using a payment gateway, you can ask customers to enter the card security code (as long as the payment gateway supports it), because that piece of information is validated in real time by the payment gateway, but never saved anywhere.

Against the law?  Could you please post the law that this may violate?  From what I understand it's not against the law but your company is just complying with Credit Card Companies.  Could you please verify this and repost the correct answer?

Correct: it is against regulations set by all credit card companies (and it makes perfect sense that they are requiring the card security code not to be saved anywhere: otherwise it becomes useless).
