Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'AND'.

/cart/pc/SmallShoppingCart.asp, line 175

It happens on the view cart page and when it happens the only option the customers has is to either clear their cookies or swap browsers. It seems like it is a corruption of the users session.

The error message appears to be suggesting you have a coding error in line 175 of smallshoppingcart.asp. Have you modified this file in any way or have you tried reloading it?

Outside of some HTML, it hasn't been modified at all, I just added a link to a list of our catalogs. I have tried reverting to an unmodified version and it still has popped up on our test site. This error doesn't happen that often, it just seems to pop up every now and again. The frustrating part is that it only clears out with the removal of the store's cookie. It doesn't clear the error if the customer logs out and logs back in, effectively emptying their cart. The session has to be completely removed from their cookies.

Could this error be caused by another modified page?

Sure, the issue could be due to other modifications to the source code. What does line 175 read like in your version of the file? (might be different from what we see in the default file, since you have modified it)

Line 175 looks like this

            set rsGcVcObj=conTempSC.execute(query)
