Hi folks,

I am happy to be a part of this forum. I just launched a site and I cannot get rid of the five Categories listed to the left and also I cannot get the Home link at the top to take me to the main page. I have already altered the storeconstants.asp code and I fixed the Header.asp code. Can someone tell me what I am missing? This makes no sense to me. I also tried re-generating the navigational links, a created a test Category, it will not even show-up after I re-generate the page. The links take me to an empty page. Also, if you type in the link below, for some strange reason, it keeps placing an extra .com at the end of the .com I already have in the link. I have checked the file and it is not like that. The Default.asp is perfect. I cannot figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

Hello JillFord,

About the link to your store:   At some point in either your storeconstants.asp or in your store settings you have entered in your store URL as [ http://www.condomsuperstore.com.com - www.condomsuperstore.com.com ].  This is causing a misdirected link when you try to access your store.  You will definitely need to correct this before you proceed to the next step of getting rid of the categories you do not need.

To get rid of the categories, assuming they are not hard-coded in as you say, you will need to simply go to the [Settings -->  Generate Navigation ] and regenerate your store navigation.  As you add more more categories you will need to update that navigation.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Thank you for your responses. This is crazy but I fixed the link by deleting the Default.asp file and creating a new one. Go figure. Something must have been locking the file, even though I made changes and they applied, the system would not see them. Now my problem is the category links. These links are not hard coded in. I tried re0generating the store, this does nothing. If you click on Browse By Category, you will see the test link I set up. This link is not showing under the left Category section and I tried re-generating the store multiple times with no luck fixing the issue. Something is stopping me from removing the left 5 links. I checked the database properties under Categories, only one is showing, that is the one I created. The database isn't even seeing the 5 links. It is almost like they are ghost categories. Productcart will not remove them. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I have never seen anything like this before with any shopping cart. Thank you again for your time and help!! Jillian

Hi,

I want to thank everyone that has tried to help me fix my issues. I just fixed all my issues myself within 5 minutes. Amazing. The issues were so simple to fix, they were the hardest to fix. It is always the simple things in life that are the hardest to fix. I have learned a great deal tinkering with Productcart myself. I only used a few articles from the knowledge base, other than that, it was all years of experience programming and in the IT Business that helped me.

Thanks again everyone!!
