Has anyone ever needed to import a group of orders from a third party csv file?  Is this something that would be possible to do from within PC admin?  Can the XML tools manager be made to allow for importing as well as exporting?

I have a need to import 50-100 orders or more at a time and assign them order numbers in a one step process.

Other than the support offered QuickBooks and StoneEdge Order Manager, there are no standard features for importing orders into ProductCart.

We recently built multiple import / export processes for a client. In their case we exported orders, but we also wrote a shipping information import process which updates the order with package information and tracking numbers once it is shipped.

It is not standard in ProductCart and would require a customization and certain server configuration (SQL Server 2005 with Integration Services installed) but it is possible to build what you describe. It sounds as though this would be a process that you would use more than once (it would not be cost effective if this was a one-time thing).

The are other considerations/questions, for example, would the customer number already exist and also match up with the number in the order - or would the customer need to be created as well (and if so should a random password be assigned)?

Please contact us at Red Leaf if you are interested in what I describe.
